Russ graduated the University of Georgia School of Business with a degree in accounting sum cum laude in 1981. In 1984, he graduated the University of Georgia School of Law cum laude.
His career includes experience with the formation and taxation of corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, estates, trusts, qualified retirement plans, IRA’s and exempt organizations. Today, his law practice primarily is concentrated in the areas of estate and trust planning, taxation and administration for the affluent, including acting as special advisor on such matters to attorneys who concentrate in other areas.
Russ is a member of the Fiduciary Law Section of the Georgia Bar Association, a past president of the Savannah Estate Planning Council, a past director of two Rotary Clubs and a frequent speaker on trust and estate topics.
He also is the president of The Savannah Community Foundation, Inc., a public charity with assets averaging in excess of $17,000,000, which, through the generosity of its patrons, makes grants averaging over $2,500,000 per year.
He especially is honored to have been recognized by several attorney rating firms for excellence in practice based on peer review.
